Biden's New Budget Omits Hyde Amendment

President Biden's new budget proposal for the upcoming fiscal year, like his budget proposal last year, omits the Hyde amendment, which prohibits federal money from directly reimbursing abortion businesses for the cost of abortion procedures. "Today President Biden talked about how his budget reflects his values. Apparently one of his values is forcing taxpayers to fund big abortion businesses," said Senator Ben Sasse (R., Neb.) in a statement following the release of the president's proposal. "For the second straight year, President Biden has tried to kill the same Hyde Amendment he supported when he was in the Senate. Biden's values may be flexible, but this issue is clear cut — the Hyde Amendment saves lives. The president doesn't have the votes for this nonsense."
