During the debate on the Fetal Life Protection Act, however, abortion providers offerred nothing more than a carefully-qualified half-denial. Pro-life young women on campuses across America are translating words into action by volunteering at orphanages, supporting foster care and adoption programs — a loving option to the violence of abortion — fundraising for pregnancy resource centers and, in the case of the WKU student group, guaranteeing that pregnant and parenting students are kept up to speed on their Title IX rights against sex-based discrimination. WKU Students for Life and the more than 1,200 similar groups sponsored by Students for Life of America are infuriated that many millennials and Gen Z are portrayed as enthusiastic abortion supporters, a notion not rooted in reality. Two months after Gov. Greg Abbott signed a law banning abortion as early as six weeks, more than 20 abortion providers responded with a lawsuit against top Texas officials aimed at stopping one of the country's strictest abortion measures to date. The suit was filed in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas. Known as the "heartbeat bill," Senate Bill 8 was heavily criticized because it limits abortion to two weeks after a missed menstrual cycle, a time when some women don't yet know they're pregnant. It aims to ban abortion after a fetal heartbeat has been detected, which is considered a misnomer as a fetus doesn't possess a heart at six weeks' gestation. Read...

The U.S. Supreme Court has announced it will hear Dobbs vs. Jackson Women's Health in the Fall of 2021. The case involves a 15-week abortion ban law passed by Mississippi in 2018. The Oklahoma legislature passed a similar law this year and it was signed into law by Governor Stitt. There are 1,200 abortion restriction laws across the U.S. The state of Mississippi lost its case in the fifth circuit appeals court and appealed to the high court. This will be the first major SCOTUS abortion case since Justice Amy Coney Barrett joined the court. Read more......

Mississippi Attorney General Lynn Fitch asked the Supreme Court to overturn the landmark 1973 decision Roe v. Wade that legalized abortion nationwide, calling the ruling "egregiously wrong." "Under the Constitution, may a State prohibit elective abortions before viability? Yes. Why? Because nothing in constitutional text, structure, history, or tradition supports a right to abortion," Fitch wrote in a brief filed to the court. The request pertains to Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization involving a 2018 Mississippi law that would ban abortions after 15 weeks of pregnancy, with narrow exceptions for medical emergencies. Leaders in the pro-life community hope a new flag featuring baby’s feet held in a mother’s hands will serve as the universal symbol for protecting the lives of the unborn. The new flag was selected in an online vote organized by the Pro-Life Flag Project, a grassroots effort involving more than 70 partners including Maryland Right to Life, the March for Life Education and Defense Fund, Students for Life of America, New Wave Feminists, Democrats for Life, Save the Storks and Focus on the Family.
