Nikki Haley Dodges on Heartbeat Bill

Presidential candidate Nikki Haley would not say whether she would sign a bill banning abortions of babies who had a heartbeat, pointing instead to President Joe Biden's administration's extreme positions on abortion. While her reference to the Biden administration's extremism may have been an attempt to follow the messaging strategies of top pro-life groups, Haley repeatedly drew on the the importance of consensus for federal abortion legislation. Her remarks followed on the heels of two Republicans, Gov. Henry McMaster of South Carolina and Gov. Ron DeSantis of Florida, signing bills banning abortions of unborn babies with detectable heartbeats. Read more......

Abortion and The Inconvenient Truth

With the compliance and funding of the US government, the multi-billion-dollar abortion industry killed over 63 million babies in 50 years. Babies were dismembered alive. Saline injections melted tiny bodies. They were stabbed in the brain with scissors during partial-birth abortions. Sixty-three million babies have suffered and died since 1972, all legally. Whether pro-life or pro-abortion, any rational person would ask, "Shouldn't we question anything that kills 63 million people?" Read more......

Colorado Pro-Lifer Challenges 'Bubble Law' as Unconstitutional

A pro-life activist in Denver is challenging state and local laws that prohibit counseling women within 100 feet of an abortion clinic, which she argues violates her constitutional rights. Wendy Faustin filed a lawsuit in the U.S. District Court of Colorado on June 1 against Democrat Gov. Jared Polis as well as other state and local officials with regard to a 1993 "bubble law" that she alleges violates the First Amendment and her 14th Amendment right to equal protection. "The basic idea is that free speech means the government can't squash or silence messages it doesn't like; it can't punish people who voice those messages," Roger Byron, lead counsel in Faustin's case,...

City Councils Sued For Trying to Silence Pro-Life Sidewalk Counselors

A federal lawsuit filed by Coalition Life seeks to break down unconstitutional, restrictive speech zones across the country. The suit positions pro-life advocates against the city of Carbondale, Illinois, where council members made an aggressive move to shut down pro-life sidewalk advocacy, voting unanimously to establish a buffer zone surrounding "health care" clinics in the area, including abortion facilities. Coalition Life seeks to reinstate free speech rights, as protected under the Constitution, and set a national precedent for pro-life sidewalk advocates. Read more......

AMA Votes Against Giving Care to an Aborted Born Alive Fetus

The American Medical Association voted down 476 to 106 a resolution from Thomas Eppes Jr., MD, a delegate from Forest, Virginia, that asked the AMA to "advocate for availability of the highest standard of neonatal care to [an] aborted fetus born alive at a gestational age of viability," which occurs at approximately 22 weeks' gestation. "This position is not to argue the woman's right to choose ... The decision to abort is still between the patient and the physician," Eppes said. "It does not imply the woman's responsibility for the fetal life, but this resolution places the burden of care on the physician, who now has to care for two patients once the fetus is...

Gallup Poll Shows Gain in Pro-Life Sentiment

Gallup released the results of the abortion questions that were included in their annual Values and Beliefs Survey. Overall, the results contain some good news for pro-lifers. The findings indicate that 41 percent of Americans identify as "pro-life." This is an increase of four percentage points from last year's Gallup poll. Additionally, since last year the percentage of Americans who felt that abortion was "morally wrong" increased from 38 percent to 41 percent. Read more......

Biden Admin Punishes Oklahoma by Removing Family Planning Grant

The Biden administration recently pulled $4.5 million in funding from the Oklahoma State Department of Health's (OSDH) family planning services in what critics call an act of retribution for the state's pro-life laws. According to the OSDH, Biden's Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) revoked the grant due to the OSDH's pro-life family services being deemed "out of compliance" by the federal government. OSDH officials said that by rescinding the $4.5 million in family planning funds, HHS was in violation of Title X of the Public Health Services Act. Read more......

Judgette Blocks Wyoming’s First-in-Nation Ban on Medication Abortion

Medication abortion will remain legal in Wyoming for now after a district judge blocked the state’s ban on abortion pills. The law, intended to take effect July 1, would have prohibited the prescription, sale and use of abortion pills – the first such measure in the nation. It joins the state’s near-total abortion ban, which has also been halted as legal challenges play out. The Teton County District Court clerk’s office confirmed that district judge Melissa Owens had held a three-hour hearing in the case and issued a verbal order from the bench. Read more......

Nevada Quietly Removes Crisis Pregnancy Center Warning

Republican Gov. Joe Lombardo instructed the Nevada Department of Health and Human Services to remove from its website information warning the public about crisis pregnancy centers. A four-paragraph section with the subheading "Report Misleading Abortion Service Providers" first appeared on an "Abortion Information for Nevadans" page launched by DHHS in October 2022, under the direction of Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak. It described CPCs as "organizations that seek to intercept women considering abortion." Nevada Right to Life, an anti-abortion rights group, in mid-May asked its followers to sign a virtual petition encouraging Lombardo to remove the CPC language,...
