A proposed amendment that would enshrine abortion rights in Ohio's constitution is being decried as an attack on parental rights by prominent pro-life groups. Pop superstar Demi Lovato has received pushback online from several influential pro-life commenters for her new crass pro-abortion anthem titled "Swine." The profanity-filled song and accompanying music video was released late last month on the one-year anniversary of the U.S. Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe V. Wade, ruling that the U.S. Constitution doesn't confer a right to abortion. Republican Iowa lawmakers pushed through a six-week abortion restriction during a special session, setting up a legal battle with pro-abortion groups in the state. Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds called legislators back for a special session and the state House and Senate passed legislation which bans most abortions after six weeks of pregnancy, which is typically when a fetal heartbeat can be detected. Recently, the Chronicle of Philanthropy published an article saying that "rage giving" to abortion advocacy groups after the overturning of Roe v. Wade in June 2022 has dropped off. MinistryWatch spoke to several pro-life ministries to see how giving has been for them in the last year, and all reported that donors remain generous in the cause of protecting the unborn.
