Florida Supreme Court Approves 15-Week Pro-Life Law

The Florida Supreme Court ruled to allow the state's 15-week abortion ban to take effect while also allowing a broad abortion amendment to be added to the November ballot. The separate rulings uphold Florida's 15-week abortion ban while also clearing the path for a proposal that opponents say could invalidate almost all the state's pro-life laws and enshrine abortion up till the moment of birth in the state. Pro-Lifers Sound Alarm on 'Extreme' Florida Abortion Vote

The Florida Supreme Court ruled that a ballot measure enshrining abortion into the state’s constitution can be voted on in November which prominent pro-life advocates tell Fox News Digital will involve a "misleading" playbook that is too "extreme" for Florida voters. While that ruling upheld a 15-week abortion ban signed into law by Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis and cleared the way for the imminent enforcement of a 6-week ban, which Democrats have already attacked as "MAGA extremism", it also approved a ballot measure in November allowing Florida voters to decide whether to enshrine abortion access into the state constitution. AZ Supreme Court Upholds 1864 Law Banning Nearly All Abortions

The Arizona Supreme Court ruled that an 1864 territorial law on abortion, which bans the procedure in almost all circumstances, is enforceable, due to no state law permitting the procedure following the overturn of federal abortion protections two years ago. In a 4-2 decision, the majority ruled that an abortion law passed in 2022, prior to the federal Supreme Court overturning Roe v. Wade, is not enough to keep abortion rights intact. That law, the state's high court explained, regulated abortion rights in the state based on past federal standards, and was not a proactive statute enshrining abortion rights. Read more......

Wisconsin Pro-Life Groups Tell Court There's No Right to Abortion

Wisconsin's pro-life groups are unified in telling the Wisconsin Supreme Court it is not the court's job to create a right to abortion. Wisconsin Right to Life, Wisconsin Family Action and Pro-Life Wisconsin all filed a joint brief with the court that argues there is no right to abortion and add that if there is to be one, that decision is up to lawmakers. Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin in February asked the Wisconsin Supreme Court to decide if there is a right to abortion in the state. Read more...  ...

New Fertility Data Show the Lifesaving Impact of Pro-Life Laws

New data from the Centers for Disease Control show that strong state level pro-life laws that were enacted in 2022 saved lives in 2023. There were 14 states that either protected all preborn children or had a heartbeat law in place for at least three months in 2022. In these 14 states, the birth rate declined by only 0.7 percent. In the 36 other states and Washington, D.C., the birth rate declined by 2.4 percent. The birth decline was clearly smaller in pro-life states than it was in states with permissive abortion policies. Preliminary calculations from this data indicate that pro-life laws saved about 18,000 lives in 2023. Read more...  ...
