AG Letitia James Challenged Over Her Pro-Life Witch-Hunt

A group of Christian pro-life pregnancy resource centers and organizations have filed a lawsuit against New York Attorney General Letitia James after she threatened to sue them over allegations of false advertising. The coalition filed the lawsuit against James accusing her of violating the pro-life groups' First and Fourteenth Amendment rights as well as the New York state constitution. The suit comes after James sent a letter to a dozen pro-life ministries accusing them of "repeated and persistent misleading statements and omissions" related to their support of the Abortion Pill Reversal protocol. Kansas Legislature Enacts Four Pro-Life Bills Over Governor's Vetoes

Kansas state legislators enacted four pro-life bills over the abortion-supporting governor's vetoes but didn't enact a bill that would have banned gender transitioning for children. The abortion measures provide $2 million in state funding for pro-life crisis pregnancy centers, provide tax credits designed to encourage more donations to such centers, require abortion facilities to ask women why they are having an abortion, and create a new crime of coercing a woman to have an abortion. Letitia James Sues Anti-Abortion Group Over Abortion Reversal Claims

New York Attorney General Letitia James filed suit on Monday against an anti-abortion organization and 11 crisis pregnancy centers in the Empire State for promoting highly controversial abortion pill reversal protocols. In the lawsuit, James accuses Heartbeat International and Crisis Pregnancy Centers Inc. of using false and misleading claims to attempt to convince pregnant patients who have taken the first abortion pill, mifepristone, to reverse their abortion by taking a high dose of the hormone progesterone. Anti-abortion organizations, including the American Association of Pro-Life Obstetricians and Gynecologists, support the mifepristone abortion reversal protocol of ingesting a high...

US Abortion Law Is 'Far More Permissive' Than Most of the World

United States abortion law is "far more permissive than the vast majority of the world," according to a study recently released by the pro-life research group the Charlotte Lozier Institute. The study found that out of the nearly 200 members of the United Nations (U.N.), the U.S. is one of only eight with no federal limit on abortion. The study also found that the U.S. is one of just 15 countries to allow abortion past 15 weeks of pregnancy, the point at which a baby can feel pain. Read more......

Justice Department Violates Religious Rights of Pro-Life Catholic

A 75-year-old devout Catholic under house arrest for an abortion facility protest is being denied her request to attend Mass on Sundays by President Joe Biden's Department of Justice. A federal judge agrees with the Justice Department that a wheelchair-bound woman with multiple health problems cannot be allowed to attend Mass once a week because of her conviction for violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act. But the prohibition on Paulette Harlow clearly violates the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, which prohibits the federal government from violating someone's religious liberty unless it can prove it "is in furtherance of a compelling governmental interest." Pro-Abortion States Are Blocking Others From Protecting Babies

Since the fall of Roe v. Wade in 2022, pro-abortion states have begun devising measures to shelter abortionists whose operations were hampered by states that chose to protect unborn life. These so-called "abortion shield laws" — many of which are likely unconstitutional — will defeat any ability for pro-life states and their citizens to hold abortionists accountable for violating their health and safety standards. Diligently enforced, shield laws invite a new war between the states over not just the lives of unborn children, but also our system of government. Read more......

Pro-Life Activist Lauren Handy to Serve Nearly 5 Years in Prison

A federal judge sentenced pro-life advocate Lauren Handy to nearly five years in prison for organizing a blockade at an abortion facility in the nation's capital. As a result, Handy's legal team has vowed to challenge what it believes is the "root cause" of the activist's conviction: the FACE Act. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, who was nominated to the federal bench by former President Bill Clinton, sentenced Handy to four years and nine months in prison. Handy, the director of activism and mutual aid for the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising, was one of several activists found guilty in August of violating the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act. 'Not the America I Know," Says Lauren Handy's Attorney

When Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly read the "shocking" sentence for pro-life activist Lauren Handy, it was "a bit surreal," said Steve Crampton, senior counsel at the Thomas Moore Society. "This is not the America I know. Not only did the judge read out this really harsh sentence, but she had the audacity to lecture Lauren Handy about her lack of compassion for the women who were going in to kill their children. "The contrast here with the Pro-Palestine folks shutting down the colleges and even preventing graduation ceremonies, and blocking entire highways and interstates in addition to the ongoing attacks… yet there are virtually no ongoing investigations. I...

Red State Votes To Make Abortion Pills Controlled Substances

Louisiana Republicans have advanced a measure that would criminalize possession without valid prescription of two drugs commonly used for illegal abortions. The measure (SB 276), which passed in the state Senate 29-7 and House 63-29 this week, adds both mifepristone and misoprostol to the state’s list of dangerous controlled substances and creates punishment for coerced abortions. Those two drugs are used to end the life of an unborn child in over half of all recorded abortions. While medication abortions are already illegal in Louisiana, leftist activists defy the pro-life protections and ship the pills into the state for illicit abortions. Read more......

Lawmakers Call for Studying Environmental Impact of Abortion Pill

Lawmakers are calling for the Biden administration to embark on a study of the environmental impact of abortion medications, given the increasingly widespread use of the abortion pill. In a letter to the head of the Environmental Protection Agency, Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Rep. Josh Brecheen, R-Okla., and others highlighted concern about the impact of the abortion drug mifepristone on the water. Mifepristone is the first of two drugs taken to induce a chemical abortion. Mifepristone blocks progesterone, which is necessary to support the unborn child, while the second drug expels the dead unborn baby. Read more......
