But campaigning in October, Vice President-elect JD Vance signaled that this largesse would be targeted under a Trump-Vance administration, commenting in response to a question about defunding Planned Parenthood that Trump had been “consistent” in his opposition to taxpayer funding of late-term abortion. Right To Life UK is urging the government to halt the mailing of abortion pills following the conviction of a man who poisoned a pregnant woman with the pills, killing her baby. Stuart Worby, 40, from Dereham, Norfolk, was sentenced to 12 years in prison for sexually assaulting a pregnant woman and forcing her to take abortion pills without her knowledge. n 2022, Worby crushed a mifepristone pill and mixed it into the victim's orange juice. Abortion supporters often accuse pro-lifers of being pro-life in speech and not in action, saying that if we were pro-life and wanted abortion illegal, we wouldn’t abandon children once they’re born. That, or pro-lifers walk the walk for political motivations only. Though maybe some politicians only care about life in the womb when it earns them votes, like the “pro-life in name only” Republicans that Students for Life Action (SFLAction) frequently calls out, truly pro-life people put their beliefs into action. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton filed a lawsuit against an abortionist in New York, alleging that she illegally provided abortion drugs to a woman in Texas, which killed the unborn child and caused serious health complications for the mother. The lawsuit alleges that Dr. Margaret Daley Carpenter gave abortion drugs to a woman across state lines through telehealth services. It states she is not licensed to practice medicine in Texas and that state law prohibits the delivery of abortion drugs through the mail. Read more......

A U.S. House subcommittee held an important hearing examining the U.S. Department of Justice's weaponization of the FACE Act against pro-life supporters. The U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Limited Government held the hearing, "Revisiting the Implications of the FACE Act: Part II," to "examine the Biden-Harris Department of Justice's unequal application of the Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act." Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, as chairman of the subcommittee, said, "Unfortunately, over the past four years, the Biden-Harris administration has weaponized this act, disproportionately targeting pro-life Americans for FACE Act violations...

Minneapolis has softened an ordinance that prohibited the obstruction of entrances and driveways to abortion clinics after anti-abortion activists sued to challenge it on free-speech grounds. The City Council this month quietly amended the ordinance to exclude constitutionally protected activities and agreed to pay the plaintiffs' legal fees. Brian Gibson, chief executive officer of Pro-Life Action Ministries, said in an interview Friday that it amounted to an admission by the city that the law violated the freedom of speech. "They were accepting fault for having violated our constitutional rights," Gibson said. Read more......

In Clearwater, Fla., women enter the city's only abortion facility through a driveway and are escorted inside by a staff member. Pro-life counselors who want to talk with the women must approach entering vehicles, make eye contact with the drivers, and attempt to engage in quiet, heartfelt conversations. But a local ordinance passed in March 2023 prevented anyone, outside of law enforcement and facility escorts, from being within five feet of the driveway. Last week, a three-judge panel of the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals heard arguments from Florida Preborn Rescue, a pro-life group, about why the ordinance violates the First Amendment rights of its members. Pro-life advocates are increasingly focusing on restricting access to pills, which are the most common way to end a pregnancy in the U.S. This month, the Texas attorney general's office filed a lawsuit against a New York doctor, saying she violated Texas law by prescribing abortion pills to a patient there via telemedicine. The suit represents the first lawsuit of its kind and could lead to a legal test for the New York law designed to protect providers there who prescribe the drugs to patients in states with abortion bans. In U.S. District Court, the city of Minneapolis agreed to a settlement with the St. Paul-based Pro-Life Action Ministries which included amending a city speech ordinance that kept clinic protesters off a sidewalk that crosses the driveway to the city's lone Planned Parenthood clinic. The Minneapolis City Council approved the amendment Dec. 10. It gives an exemption to groups engaged in "conduct protected by the United States Constitution, the Minnesota Constitution, or federal or Minnesota law." The ordinance, enacted in November 2022, had prohibited protesters and sidewalk counselors from being on that sidewalk. Read more......
