The challenges we face in our post-Roe world remind us that our work is far from complete. Recent losses in Missouri and Colorado — two states where legislation shifted against pro-life principles — serve as sobering examples. These setbacks reveal that the pro-life movement cannot rely on legislative successes alone. While laws are critical, they are insufficient to win the hearts and minds of a culture increasingly resistant to life-affirming values. The reversal of Roe marked a pivotal milestone, yet it also exposed the pressing need for profound cultural and spiritual renewal. Read more......

Roe v. Wade has been overturned, but, clearly, the battle isn't over. In the '70s, it was a matter of showing that an unborn baby is truly alive. But what about today? I would argue that now, more than ever, it's a matter of widening our sphere of concern to include the full breadth and depth of Catholic teaching on the family. Every attempt to protect the life of the unborn must be matched by a vigorous and unwavering promotion of the family. The pro-life movement won't achieve its ultimate goals without a strong focus on supporting and strengthening families. Read more......

For the fifth-consecutive year, Arkansas has been honored with the distinction of being the "Most Pro-Life State in America." Americans United for Life released its "Life List 2025" which ranks states on the basis of how "life-affirming" their laws and policies are regarding issues including abortion, assisted suicide and conscience protections in the healthcare industry. According to its annual report, Arkansas topped the list, followed by Louisiana, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Indiana. Tennessee, which previously ranked 13th on the list, bumped up to No. 6. Alabama, which had previously placed at No. 10 on the list, dropped to 16th place. Read more... ...

An organization of Catholic doctors is challenging the Biden administration’s attempt to force emergency room physicians to perform abortions. After the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, the Biden administration announced its intention to force doctors to perform abortions under the Emergency Medical Treatment and Labor Act (EMTALA), a federal law requiring hospitals to offer examinations and necessary treatment to patients who go to an emergency department, regardless of their ability to pay. In a legal memorandum the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) said, "If a physician believes that a pregnant patient presenting at an emergency department...

Virginia Democrats advanced a proposal to enshrine abortion as a right in the state constitution earlier this week. The amendment would ensure a "fundamental right to reproductive freedom," protecting abortion in the first two trimesters as well as in the third trimester with some restrictions. Virginia Republicans criticized the measure, calling it "extreme" and expressing concern that the amendment could supersede a current Virginia law requiring parental consent for abortions for minors. U.S. Senator James Lankford, R-OK, reintroduced the Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act. The bill requires health care practitioners to provide newborn infants who survive abortions with appropriate medical care. In 2002, Congress passed the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act which granted legal protections to infants who survive abortions. The act "codified in law that a newborn, regardless of the circumstances of their birth, is to be legally recognized as a person from the moment of birth if he or she show any sign of life." However, that bill did not provide any measure to enforce the protection for these infants. The Born-Alive Abortion Survivors Protection Act...

The Virginia Senate this afternoon passed a constitutional amendment allowing abortion at any point in pregnancy. The amendment would also eliminate parental consent, end health protections for women and girls, and force taxpayers to fund abortion. The vote broke along party lines with 21 Democrats voting in favor and 19 Republicans opposing. Democrats voted down Republican-proposed changes to the amendment to protect parental rights and the lives of babies who survive abortions. To be placed on the ballot, the amendment must be approved by the General Assembly again after the November election. The amendment would eliminate Virginia's current law limiting abortion at 27 weeks, during the...

Democrats and the media are exploiting tragic cases like those of Nevaeh Crain and Josseli Barnica to push for expanded abortion in Texas. These cases, which stem from media misinformation and likely medical malpractice, are used to mislead the public about Pro-Life laws. The truth is that Texas Pro-Life policies protect both pregnant women and their preborn children while allowing critical medical interventions. To counter false claims, Texas should NOT expand abortion but should require continued education for medical professionals, ensuring the best care for pregnant women. Read more......

President Trump pardoned nearly two dozen pro-life activists who were convicted under a federal law of illegally trying to block abortion clinic entrances or otherwise keep women from undergoing the procedure. The pardons, Trump said in the Oval Office, will go to 23 "peaceful protestors" who were prosecuted under the Biden administration. "Twenty-three people were prosecuted who should not have been prosecuted. Many of them are elderly people. They should not have been prosecuted," the president said. "This is a great honor to sign this." Read more......

The Knights of Columbus/Marist poll found that, among over 1,387 adults surveyed, clear majorities opposed taxpayer funding of abortion both at home and overseas. Conscience rights polled well, as 62 percent felt that medical professionals should not be legally required to perform abortions. Additionally, 63 percent of Americans felt that an in-person medical exam should be required if a woman wants to obtain a chemical abortion. Finally, a whopping 83 percent of adults support the work of pro-life pregnancy help centers. Read more......
