Wisconsin Supreme Court Strikes Down Century-Old Pro-Life Law

The state’s highest court ruled 4-3 against the 19th century law, saying it is superseded by newer laws. Passed before the Civil War, the measure made abortion a felony except in cases where the mother’s life is in danger. The high court’s liberal majority affirmed a lower court ruling that overturned the 176-year-old legislation and said it only applied to feticide, not the protection of unborn babies. In her dissent, Supreme Court Justice Annette Ziegler wrote the ruling placed personal preference over the constitutional roles of the branches of state government. No legislation truly repealed the 1849 law, Ziegler wrote. She added that the Wisconsin State Legislature, not the courts,...

Medical Groups Want Review of Abortion Drugs Approval

As Planned Parenthood sues the Trump administration for provisions of the "big, beautiful bill" defunding abortion providers, pro-life medical groups are urging Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to reexamine the FDA’s broad approval of abortion drugs. SBA Slams Activist Ruling to Fund Abortion Giant Planned Parenthood

"An activist judge just prolonged the forced taxpayer funding of Big Abortion, a desperate attempt to run out the clock, and a shameful abuse of our tax dollars. Every day her decision remains in effect, millions are funneled into a business that profits from ending unborn lives and putting women at risk," said Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of SBA Pro-Life America. "Planned Parenthood's desperate ploy for our tax dollars only underscores why the One Big Beautiful Bill is such a historic win. It halted, for the first time, over half a billion taxpayer dollars from propping up the corrupt abortion industry." Read more...  ...

Americans Are Becoming More Pro-Life, Poll Shows

A new poll shows public support for legal abortion has declined in the United States over the past year. The Associated Press and NORC Center for Public Affairs Research conducted a July 10-14 survey of 1,437 U.S. adults. The share of adults who think abortion should be illegal in "all cases" or "most cases" increased by 7% since June 2024, according to pollsters. The poll found 36% of Americans think abortion should always or mostly be illegal. When the same pollster asked the question around the same time last year, only 29% of Americans thought this way. 16 State Attorneys General Oppose Abortion Shield Laws

State attorneys general across the country are banding together to oppose "abortion shield laws" that they say enable abortionists to bypass pro-life state laws. A letter to Congress signed by 16 Republican attorneys general described the shield laws as "blatant attempts to interfere with states' ability to enforce criminal laws within their borders." At least 18 states and Washington, D.C., have enacted abortion shield laws, which vary in kind but are all designed to protect abortionists against pro-life laws in other states. Generally, states with abortion shield laws will refuse to extradite abortionists and won't enforce judgments or penalties from another state. Read...
