The U.S. Court of Appeals for the 5th Circuit ruled that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration must restore the in-person dispensing requirement for the abortion drug mifepristone pending appeal. This ruling prevents pro-abortion activists and doctors from mailing streams of high-risk abortion drugs into states that protect the lives of unborn babies. In the case State of Louisiana v. U.S. Food and Drug Administration, Louisiana Attorney General Liz Murrill and attorneys with Alliance Defending Freedom asked the court to temporarily block the unlawful mailing of abortion drugs into pro-life states while the 5th Circuit considers Louisiana's appeal from the district court's denial of...

The Supreme Court restored nationwide access to the abortion pill mifepristone, in a rapid reversal of a lower court ruling that blocked women from obtaining the abortion drug unless they first had in-person doctor's visits. The one-sentence order, signed by Justice Samuel Alito, will allow women seeking abortions to obtain mifepristone at pharmacies, through telehealth, or through the mail. In effect until May 11, the order allows parties on both sides time to file briefs so the full court can consider the issue. Read more......

The nation's largest pro-life organization filed an amicus brief in the U.S. Supreme Court asserting the impossibility of ensuring informed consent without an in-person doctor's visit as it relates to the abortion pill, since anyone can order the drug online. President of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Marjorie Dannenfelser told The Center Square that her organization's brief "highlights how impossible it is to ensure the right to informed consent in this unregulated Wild West environment" surrounding the abortion pill. The Supreme Court granted a stay blocking enforcement of a lower court ruling that would have restricted access to the abortion pill mifepristone by mail. The Court's decision allows abortionists to continue prescribing mifepristone through telehealth appointments, and sending it through the mail, while Louisiana's lawsuit seeking to require the FDA to reinstate the in-person dispensing requirement on mifepristone continues. The agency removed the requirement during the Biden presidency. Justices Thomas and Alito dissented from the Court's decision. Read more......

Federal safety rules prohibit prescribing the abortion drug mifepristone to terminate pregnancies after 10 weeks’ gestation, but that’s not stopping the booming online abortion-pill business. A report by the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute found 81 percent of online providers that report their data will ship abortion drugs to women whose pregnancies exceed 70 days’ gestation, a violation of the Food and Drug Administration safety protocol. The report found that eight companies mail mifepristone to states in defiance of their abortion restrictions. Read more......

A North Carolina representative wants to classify abortions as murder. House Bill 1232 or Life At Fertilization would rewrite the state law to include a fetus as human life and allow someone to use deadly force to stop an abortion. Representative Keith Kidwell is the primary sponsor. He's known for controversial proposals like permit-less gun carry. Representative Ben Moss was a sponsor but removed his name after public pressure. In a letter, the Rep. from Moore County said, "portions of the bill's current language have led to significant misunderstandings and different misinterpretations that distract from the core pro-life message and intent." For years, the media has pushed the idea that Texas' abortion laws stop doctors from saving pregnant women in emergencies. But now, the Texas Medical Board has confirmed something important: the law was never the problem. The doctors were. Recently, the Texas Medical Board disciplined three physicians for failing to give legal, life-saving care to pregnant women. One doctor refused to properly treat Porsha Ngumezi while she was going through a natural miscarriage. Two other doctors failed to step in and save the life of pregnant teenager Nevaeh Crain.
