A pro-life group has released a new report marking the anniversary of the Supreme Court's decision overturning Roe v. Wade, finding that nearly 330,000 abortion pills have been shipped to states with abortion restrictions since the summer of 2023 under the protection of blue state shield laws, which the report says enabled abortion numbers in several conservative states to remain at or above pre-Dobbs levels. Federal safety rules prohibit prescribing the abortion drug mifepristone to terminate pregnancies after 10 weeks’ gestation, but that’s not stopping the booming online abortion-pill business. A report by the pro-life Charlotte Lozier Institute found 81 percent of online providers that report their data will ship abortion drugs to women whose pregnancies exceed 70 days’ gestation, a violation of the Food and Drug Administration safety protocol. Guttmacher Institute's new data indicats that 91,000 women living in states with strong pro-life laws obtained telehealth abortions in 2025 — an increase of more than 26% over the previous year. Overall, telehealth abortions are weakening the strong pro-life laws that many states passed after the Dobbs decision. An estimated 142,000 people traveled out of state for an abortion last year, down from 154,000 people in 2024, the report states. Read more...

Vocally pro-abortion Notre Dame associate professor Susan Ostermann is declining a prestigious academic appointment following weeks of backlash from pro-life students, faculty, and Catholic bishops. In January, Ostermann was appointed director of Notre Dame’s Liu Institute for Asia and Asian Studies at the Keough School of International Affairs. The 2026 "Status of Abortion in the United States" report, an analysis of developments in abortion policy, found that chemical abortions account for 63% of all reported abortions in the U.S. as of 2023. New York and California are pouring taxpayer dollars into Planned Parenthood, joining several other states in counteracting the federal defunding of the abortion giant. California Gov. Gavin Newsom pledged $140 million to Planned Parenthood locations in California on Oct. 24. On the same day, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul committed $35 million in funding to Planned Parenthood locations in New York. Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton announced the arrests of eight people, including several foreign nationals, allegedly connected to a previously arrested Houston-area individual accused of performing illegal abortions and practicing medicine without a license. The announcement came months after the office arrested midwife Maria Margarita Rojas, 49, for "providing illegal abortions and illegally operating a network of clinics in the Northwest Houston area." Fairfax County resident Rosie Kostka spoke to the Fairfax County Public Schools board meeting of her experience coaching a public school's ultimate frisbee team and teaching at Our Lady of Hope School in Potomac Falls. "Virginia state law says I cannot give my Fairfax County high school athletes Tylenol for a headache, yet these girls were brought to surgery without their parents knowing," she said. "As a teacher, I keep my kids' parents in the loop. I would expect the same outreach, not only from my child's teacher, but also from the school counselor dealing with something as big as a pregnancy.
