A Planned Parenthood affiliate recently announced plans to shutter eight clinics in two states, leading pro-life advocates to celebrate online. The closures involve clinics in Ames, Cedar Rapids, Sioux City and Urbandale in Iowa, and Alexandria, Apple Valley, Bemidji and Richfield in Minnesota. The organization will lay off 66 employees and relocate 37 others to different clinics. Once those clinics close, Planned Parenthood North Central States (PPNCS) will operate 15 clinics, including six that provide abortions. Read more...

The New Jersey governor's new budget proposal includes $52 million to fund abortion, reproductive health, and family planning, including a $2 million incentive program designed to bring "reproductive health care providers" to the state. In his remarks for the 2026 budget, Gov. Phil Murphy made clear the initiative was designed to bring abortionists and others from pro-life states. He said the program would attract reproductive health care providers "targeted by politicians elsewhere." Murphy also pledged to stockpile abortion pills. Read more...

Several dozen pro-abortion activists marched to Alaska's Governor's Mansion in Juneau to demand that Gov. Mike Dunleavy take down a pro-life flag that he flies next to the U.S. and Alaska flags. Chanting, "Our rights, our choice," the protesters snaked through the State Capital – whooping and screaming as pedestrians looked on. One marcher, dressed in Game of Thrones's styled battle garb, wielded a large metal sword, which she jabbed into the air while joining the cacophony of voices railiing against any effort to protect unborn babies from abortion. Planned Parenthood officials appear to discuss mutilating the bodies of living babies to bypass federal law against partial-birth abortions in previously unseen undercover videos obtained by the pro-life Center for Medical Progress. "The new videos show Planned Parenthood's financial interest in selling the body parts from aborted babies is even bigger than previously discussed and their criminal intent is irrefutably documented," David Daleiden said. "The new footage also shows the barbaric lengths Planned Parenthood will go to in order to cover up their illegal abortion harvesting." Read more...

The American Medical Association voted down 476 to 106 a resolution from Thomas Eppes Jr., MD, a delegate from Forest, Virginia, that asked the AMA to "advocate for availability of the highest standard of neonatal care to [an] aborted fetus born alive at a gestational age of viability," which occurs at approximately 22 weeks' gestation. "This position is not to argue the woman's right to choose ... The decision to abort is still between the patient and the physician," Eppes said. "It does not imply the woman's responsibility for the fetal life, but this resolution places the burden of care on the physician, who now has to care for two patients once the fetus is viable." A Madison man was arrested in Boston Tuesday on charges connected to the firebombing of a Madison anti-abortion office building in May of 2022. Hridndu Sankar Roychowdhury, 29, is charged with one count of attempting to cause damage by means of fire or an explosive, according to court documents. The U.S. Food and Drug Administration will allow retail pharmacies to offer abortion pills in the United States for the first time, prompting criticism from Catholic and pro-life groups. The Biden administration's rule change comes in the wake of the Supreme Court's decision last year in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization that struck down the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision, enabling many states to restrict abortion access. The regulatory change permits the sale of mifepristone, the first of two drugs used in a chemical abortion, at retail pharmacies. The drug could previously only be dispensed by some mail-order pharmacies, or by some doctors or abortion centers. Read more...

A new study has shown that the number of abortions in Colorado has spiked, in part because more women come from out of state seeking to procure abortions. While Catholic ministries and charities continue to help pregnant women in Colorado, the state Legislature could be poised to introduce legislation that would further increase the number of abortions. Between April and August the number of abortions increased by 33% in Colorado, from 1,450 in April to 1,940 in August, the Society of Family Planning said in its Oct. 28 publication called the "#WeCount Report." Anarchist groups and individuals using the moniker "Jane's Revenge" are among those who claim to be planning a "Night of Rage" to respond to the Supreme Court's expected overturning of Roe v. Wade. Their grandiose rhetoric portrays churches, crisis pregnancy centers, and pro-life groups as their enemy, and these actors seem to be behind at least six vandalism or arson attacks on pro-life groups, crisis pregnancy centers, and churches. The first communique from a group calling itself Jane's Revenge was posted May 8 to the anonymous blogging host noblogs.org, the same day as a vandal and arson attack on Wisconsin Family Action that appeared to be anarchists motivated by animosity towards the group's pro-life cause. The communique characterized the attack as a "warning" and claimed it would not issue any further warnings. Its authors claimed to be the victims of a "war" and to have been "shot, bombed, and forced into childbirth without consent." Read more...

After the bombshell leak of a supreme court draft opinion last week revealed that the majority of justices plan to overturn Roe v Wade, a handful of states have been reaffirming and expanding their abortion care. In recent days, a flurry of bills and statements have been emerging in largely Democratic-run states as lawmakers and organizations scramble to prepare for the possibility of a post-Roe America. As some states seek to become "safe havens" for out-of-state abortion seekers, other states have been increasing abortion funding, expanding provider access and offering legal protections from lawsuits launched by citizen "bounty-hunters" against those involved in abortions.
