South Carolina Abortions Drop 16.2 Percent in 2025

The number of abortions reported in South Carolina decreased by more than 16 percent in 2025, according to the newly released South Carolina Department of Public Health abortion report. The report documents 2,534 abortions in 2025, compared with 3,025 abortions in 2024. That represents a decline of 491 abortions, or 16.2 percent, in one year. The report shows that nearly all abortions occurred during the earliest stages of pregnancy. Read more...
